Rabobank helps cooperatives

JAKARTA (JP): Rabobank, one of the Netherlands' major banks, will help to set up a cooperative banking system in Indonesia to speed up the development of the country's cooperatives.

The Dutch bank said here on Friday that as part of the aid program, the bank would provide technical support and expertise in the establishment of a cooperative banking system.

The aid will be provided through the Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin), which is now preparing a cooperative bank on the Rabobank model.

Rabobank said that it would make its contribution to the cooperation efforts through Rabo International Advisory Services (RIAS), the consultancy subsidiary of Rabobank International.(hen)
