Quota imposed to end kerosene shortage

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: In order to end a prolonged kerosene shortage in areas of Palembang, the municipal administration has instructed the oil and gas association in the city to limit the supply of kerosene to 30 kiloliters per month for each supplier.

With this new policy, the distribution of kerosene in 14 districts and 103 subdistricts in the city will be more even, said Hariyanto Abidin, the secretary of the association.

The policy took effect last Thursday but as of Tuesday kerosene shortages continued in some areas of the city. -- JP
