Quake rattles town in Aceh

BANDA ACEH: The town of Sabang on Weh island in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province was shook by an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale on Thursday afternoon.

No fatalities have been reported in the quake.

An official at the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, Mata Ie Syahnan, said the earthquake was strong enough that people indoors could have felt it, but that people outside might not have realized a quake was occurring.

There is still no information on the earthquake's epicenter.

The earthquake was also felt by people in Banda Aceh. --JP
