Quake jolts W. Sumatra

PADANG, W. Sumatra: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted West Sumatra at dawn yesterday, Antara reported.

The quake's epicenter was located at the Mentawai Strait, about 250 km southwest of Padang Panjang, an official of the local meteorological and geophysical office, Asikin, said in Padang Panjang.

There was no report of casualties or damage. (swe)
