Quaint, aging vehicles color the city

On the bustling streets of Jakarta, amid motorists and motorcyclists, old public transportation still operates. The helicak and bajaj (three-wheeled motorized vehicles), bemo (three-wheeled van), were popular modes of transportation in the 1970s when Jakarta's streets were not as busy as they are today.

The images below give us a glimpse of some of the old modes of public transportation that are still found in some areas of the capital.
