Qantas unveils e-tickets

JAKARTA (JP): Qantas Airways Indonesia said on Wednesday it has introduced electronic ticketing for its passengers in Jakarta and Bali.

The Australian airline said the new service would allow passengers from Indonesia to travel to Australia without paper airline tickets.

With the e-ticket facility, customers only need to phone the airline office to make a reservation and provide the necessary information, including name, itinerary and preferred form of payment, the airline said.

Subject to finalization of payment, the e-ticket details can be sent through facsimile or mail. At the airport, passengers identify themselves as e-ticket customers, provide e-ticket booking number and show their passport at the check-in counter, the airline said in a statement.(hen)
