Qantas offers special fares

JAKARTA (JP): Australian airline Qantas Airways announced on Friday special fares for Indonesian travelers flying to Australia's east coast between July 23 and Dec. 6.

The company said in a statement that people traveling to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Adelaide could now pay only US$430 from Jakarta and $410 from Denpasar, Bali.

Those wanting to visit Perth, Western Australia, need only to pay $315 from Jakarta and $255 from Denpasar, it said.

"This is our way of providing customers with truly affordable holiday options when traveling to Australia," Qantas marketing manager for Indonesia Fonny Tedjakusmana said, adding that all reservations must be made before Aug. 25, 2001.

Qantas flies direct from Jakarta to Sydney five times a week with connecting flights to Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
