PWI Lampung to issue white book

LAMPUNG, South Sumatra: Confronted with the presence of bogus journalists, the Indonesian Journalists' Association (PWI)'s Lampung chapter will issue a white book containing complete data on its members and regulations.

PWI Lampung vice chairman A. Rio Teguh said on Thursday that the book would help the public, especially those who deal with journalists everyday, such as officers in the government or private institutions, identify PWI members.

Riding on the euphoria of the reform movement, Lampung has seen numerous press organizations, newspapers, magazines and radio stations being set up.

"The public often think's that all journalists are PWI members," he said.

Rio added that the book would also contain the press law and the journalist's code of ethics.
