Public should monitor political parties

We should keep a close watch on political parties contesting the 2004 general elections to prevent them from violating the code of ethics in their attempt to gain as many votes as possible.

They may think ethics do not matter if they are trying to garner votes. We, however, must prevent any attempt to legitimize unethical means of achieving that goal.

Most political parties are merely a means to struggle for political interests. Is it possible for political parties to have anything other than a spirit to serve their political interests? Of course, it is possible, provided that their political struggle is based on conscience and is intended to serve the entire nation. Political parties may have different platforms but they need to have a sense of togetherness when it comes to national interests.

It is high time for us to have the courage to rid the country of evils by voting for politicians who have the integrity and commitment to devote themselves to the nation.
