Public order officers to undergo drugs test

JAKARTA: Over 500 public order officers in Central Jakarta will be required to take a drug test at City Hall on Tuesday.

"We want to make sure public order officers are not using drugs because their job requires them to work at nights," said Sulaiman Bachtiar, head of Central Jakarta's Public Order Office.

He said the tests were ordered in the wake of public reports accusing some public order officers of using drugs.

Any officers who fail the test will be dismissed, Sulaiman said as quoted by beritajakarta.com. -- JP
