Public grievances compiled
JAKARTA (JP): Got any complaints about hospital services other than the food? Here's your chance to get even.
The health magazine Higina, in collaboration with the Indonesian Medical Association, is now compiling complaints from members of the public who have a grievance about hospital services.
According to a statement made by the magazine, the campaign, launched on Dec. 1 and lasting until Jan. 31, is intended to gather information about public feelings concerning hospitals.
The association's chairman Azrul Azwar suggested that complaints be forwarded with copies of data so that they could be traced and dealt with effectively.
Giving his endorsement to the campaign, Azrul said it marks the start of the association's program to establish an agency to deal with complaints and also help settle disputes between members of the public and members of the medical profession.
Higina editor FA Suhardi Soetedja said complaints should be addressed to the magazine's office at Jln. Dewi Sartika 136D, Jakarta 13630.
"I appeal to members of the public who feel they've been badly treated by hospitals to write in to us. Your participation is highly appreciated," Suhardi said.
He added that the result of the survey would also be presented to the Ministry of Health. (emb)
