PT Jasa Marga ignores court order

JAKARTA: Toll road operator PT Jasa Marga has ignored a court order to postpone construction of the Ulujami-Pondok Aren toll road, which is the first part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR), the plaintiffs told a court hearing on Tuesday.

The heirs of D.H. Aritonang, who have claimed ownership over almost 20,000 square meters of land in the project area, told the court that the construction work had continued despite the court order to postpone it, pending a settlement over the land dispute.

Judge Masrup, who issued the order, said he needed a week before making any decision about PT Jasa Marga's defiance.

The land dispute started early this year after the heirs of Aritonang sued PT Jasa Marga, its operational team, its developer PT Sempurna Sentosa Abadi, the National Land Agency (BPN) and the Pesanggrahan District head.

The plaintiffs said the land had been unlawfully claimed by Entong Kukuh of PT Sempurna Sentosa Abadi, the project developer.

Last month, the court ordered PT Jasa Marga to temporarily halt its project.
