PT Intercon's facilities called for

City councilor Saud Rahman has questioned why PT Intercon is delaying the construction of social and public facilities in Taman Kebon Jeruk housing complex in West Jakarta.

"I am concerned about this matter because the company has not built the facilities even though the firm has been operating there since the 1980s," Saud Rahman, councilor from the United Development Party, told reporters on Tuesday.

He said that the company has built a housing complex on a 300- hectare plot of land in the location.

Based on a gubernatorial decree, developers are obliged to set aside 40 percent of the total area for social and public facilities.

"I urge the city administration to review the company's land appropriation permit if the company does not abide by the regulation," Rahman said. (yns)
