PT DI sues three workers for misconduct

BANDUNG: Bandung Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Masguntur Laupe said here on Wednesday that the police were still investigating three employees of aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia for alleged misconduct during a demonstration at their work place last month.

He said the investigation was carried out after the company's management filed a lawsuit against the three employees identified as Irianto, Suprim Pringas and Anthoni.

The police officer would not comment when asked to elaborate on the trio's alleged misconduct during the demonstration.

He said that during the demonstration, the demonstrators yelled at and verbally abused several senior staff, forcing them out of the company's office.

"The three's misconduct has made the working conditions uncomfortable. We have questioned around 30 employees who witnessed the three's misconduct," he said here on Thursday.

The company's employees went on strike last month to protest the management's failure to eradicate corruption and improve the company's performance. The demonstrators also called on the central government to reshuffle the management.

A.M. Bone, secretary general of the company's labor union, said the workers would resume strikes if the three employees were held as suspects in the case. --JP
