PSSI waiting for European tour

JAKARTA (JP): The All Indonesian Soccer Federation (PSSI) is awaiting confirmation from UFA, a European agency, over the planned friendly matches with national teams from Estonia, Latvia and Finland, PSSI secretary-general Nugraha Besoes said on Wednesday.

Nugraha said UFA would inform PSSI on the preparedness of the national teams on Thursday. He said UFA was also searching for two other clubs to challenge the Indonesian team, which is currently preparing for the 20th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Brunei Darussalam.

"If the agency fails to provide the challengers, we will compete in China. We choose Chinese players because they have technical skills equal to those of our players," he said. (ivy)
