PSI Reveals Reasons for Accepting Ade Armando's Resignation
As I mentioned earlier, the lengthy discussions conducted by the PSI Central Executive Board and Bang Ade Armando yesterday considered all possible aspects that might occur in the future. On the other hand, we also realise that the interests of the party and personal interests are two things that must be safeguarded together,” said PSI’s Deputy Chairman of the Central Executive Board, Ahmad Ali, at the PSI Central Executive Board office in Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Ali stated that Ade Armando’s resignation from PSI was his own initiative. According to him, Ade was concerned that reports to the police against him would impact PSI.
“Bang Ade invited us to discuss to convince us that if this is not accepted immediately, it could have a broader impact on the party. Because past experiences have always linked Bang Ade’s statements with PSI. This time is different because, as Bang Ade said, massive reports have already been made,” he said.
Based on that, PSI then accepted Ade Armando’s consideration to resign. Ali described Ade’s resignation as a reasonable step.
“Then, based on that, we accepted the consideration because, on the other hand, what Bang Ade conveyed is a reality and makes sense,” he said.
Previously, Ade Armando had resigned from PSI. Ade stated that his resignation was for the common good.
“Through this press conference, I state that I am resigning from PSI, yes. There is no conflict between me and PSI, but I am stepping down, in my opinion, for the common good,” said Ade Armando at the PSI Central Executive Board office in Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5).
