Proud to be part of RI's success story
Indonesia is the closest neighbor to Australia compared to
other ASEAN countries and has become one of the most attractive
markets for Australia.
The trade relationship between the two countries has been
growing considerably over the past few years.
Despite the current economic turmoil, there is no doubt that
investors from Australia will continue to commit to long-term
investment in Indonesia.
In the engineering and construction services sector, Clough
Engineering, a leading Australian oil and gas- and resources-
based engineering and construction company, is a good example of
an Australian investor's commitment in Indonesia.
The Clough group has been successfully operating in Indonesia
through its subsidiary PT Petrosea, a large engineering,
construction and mining company which has been listed on the
Jakarta Stock Exchange and the Surabaya Stock Exchange since
1990.
Established in 1972, Petrosea has established a long track
record of good experience working in Indonesia.
This has led to its capability of delivering projects, mostly
located in geographically remote and logistically difficult
areas, to various clients successfully.
Petrosea offers engineering, procurement and construction
services to the following industry sectors:
* Mining
* Oil and Gas (onshore and offshore)
* Industrial and Manufacturing
* Infrastructure Construction
* Power Generation Installation.
The company operates in three divisions.
The first division, Engineering and Construction, specializes
in EPC contracts in gas/condensate/oil processing, onshore and
offshore pipelines, mineral processing plants, materials
handling, infrastructure and marine works.
The second division, Mining, performs large contract mining
works, mine feasibility studies and processing plant design.
And the third division, Plant, controls a plant fleet valued
at over US$80 million.
At present, Petrosea operates in various locations with its
head office in Jakarta. Branch offices and project offices are
located in Balikpapan, Samarinda, Sangatta, Bontang (East
Kalimantan), Rawas (South Sumatra), Ujungpandang, Soroako (south
Sulawesi), Ratatotok, Menado (North Sulawesi), Timika (Irian
Jaya), Sumbawa and, soon, Pagerungan Island (East Java).
Petrosea is proud to be one of the national contracting
companies that have made their contribution to the country's
development since the early days of the First Long-Term
Development Plan, during which infrastructure facilities were
minimum.
Petrosea has proven to be capable and reliable in performing
major projects that were won through competitive tenders using
international best practice, and has been recognized as a
contracting services provider that can deliver projects on time
and to budget.
Understanding cultures, values and traditions in the many
Indonesian regions is one of the key success factors in Petrosea
successfully completing various projects spread out from Natuna
Sea, Sumatra, West Java, East Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku,
East Nusa Tenggara and Irian Jaya.
Despite the current monetary problems, Petrosea has managed to
maintain a relatively high market value of its shares due to the
facts that the company's operations are largely export oriented
and provide income to Indonesia and to solid balance sheet and
sound management practice.
Petrosea's mission is strongly defined in its Mission
Statement: To assist Clients, primarily in Indonesia, to meet
their business goals through the provision of reliable,
innovative and competitive engineering, construction, mining and
project management skills using international best practice. We
deliver added value.
Petrosea is proud of the contributions it makes to Indonesia.
