Protest marks council inauguration

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: A student protest marked the
inauguration of 55 new East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provincial
councillors on Friday, who began their 5-year term.

In the protest, hundreds of students protested the
inauguration of several councillors because of alleged corruption
cases, demanding that the inauguration be canceled.

They also demanded the provincial council to side with
people's interests, promote human rights and help the public's
drive to combat corruption. -- JP
