Protest against Dyer's article

We were very unpleasantly surprised to read an article on June 2, 1998 in your esteemed newspaper, which stands for a serious and professional Indonesian daily. The article, titled Kosovo: Method in Milosevic's madness by Gwynne Dyer, was full of rude anti-Yugoslav and anti-Serbian attitudes, in which the president of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was unscrupulously offended.

Following writings of your newspaper for many years we could have not noticed that it is in its policy to offend any president of any country, including presidents of this country.

For this mentioned offense and the numerous untruths, half- truths and the intentionally twisted "facts", the article in question could be even a subject of an official lawsuit.
