Protecting child beggars

From Koran Tempo

The Jakarta administration should be more serious in handling child beggars and street singers. Their presence at crossroads around luxury cars gives the impression that they are worthless objects. It also shows the wide social gap between the car owners and the beggars and singers.

Remember the recent child kidnapping case? The case revealed that the children ran away from the person who had abducted them from their village.

Actually, child beggars and street singers deserve to have education, protection and health care. A budget for them will not be as big as that needed to evict street vendors.
