Protected species

From Pikiran Rakyat

One afternoon I visited the Matahari department store on Jl Banceuy, Bandung, West Java.

On the second floor of the building I saw a lot of animals for sale. The animals on sale were protected species, including monkeys, ant eaters, squirrels, civet cats, forest cats.

As far as I know, the government prohibits anyone from keeping rare animals without permission.

The authorities should investigate the sale of those animals. This sort of behavior could lead to their extinction.
