Prostitutes test positive for STDs

SEMARANG: About 10 percent of an estimated 700 prostitutes
operating here have been diagnosed with sexually transmitted
diseases and have probably infected many teenage customers,
provincial administration spokeswoman Harini Krisniati said on
Thursday.

She said young men were frequent customers of prostitutes
operating along Jl. A. Yani, Jl. Pemuda, Jl. Simpang Lima and
Pandanaran area.

"I suspect that many students have been infected with
gonorrhea or other sexually transmitted diseases," she said.
