Prostitute at Dadap has AIDS
JAKARTA (JP): The Tangerang Health Office did blood tests on 158 prostitutes of the Dadap red-light district in June last year. The results, which were made known in May this year, showed that one of the prostitutes tested HIV positive.
The chairman of the Health Office, Dr. H. Djauhari, refused to identify the 19-year-old prostitute but he confirmed that she was still actively plying her trade as of yesterday, Kompas daily reported.
There was no mention as to why the results of the test took a year to be disclosed.
Health Office figures reveal that up to May this year there were eight AIDS cases and six HIV cases found in West Java. (01)
