Prosecutors accept Bustanil dossier

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Prosecutors' Office has finally accepted the police dossier on former minister of cooperatives and head of the State logistic Bustanil Arifin, and another former minister of cooperatives Subiakto Tjakrawerdaya, who are suspects in a graft case.

Head of the city police detectives Adj.Sr.Comr. Anton Wahono said on Thursday that the prosecutors had accepted the dossier after the police submitted copies of 13 presidential regulations as requested by the prosecutors.

Bustanil and Subiakto are charged with their alleged roles in a corruption case involving Rp 10 billion (more than US$100,000) in Bulog funds in 1990.

Subiakto had earlier admitted that he used the money to buy a 4,003-square-meter land plot on Jl. HR. Rasuna Said from Bambang Trihatmodjo, former president Soeharto's second son.

Subiakto is being detained by the police while Bustanil is now under house arrest. -- JP
