Proper diet to prevent cancer

After reading "Diet may prevent and cure cancer," an article on medicine by Dr. Venusri Latif, a specialist in health and the nervous system, in Pikiran Rakyat daily dated Jan. 5, 1999 and another article by Geoffrey Cowley on "Cancer and diet" (Newsweek, Nov. 30, 1998, pages 42 and 43) allow me to inform readers of what food to eat to prevent cancer.

Cancer is not easy to cure but it can be prevented by prudently carrying out the regiment as suggested by Cowley: the risk of prostate cancer may be reduced by eating soy-based foods, the risk of colon/rectal cancer can be reduced such weapons as calcium and fiber, and the risk of lung cancer can be minimized by replacing cigarettes with carrot sticks.

Meanwhile, Jean Carper, in her book Food your miracle medicine, advises us with her best formula: if you want to avoid pancreatic cancer take an orange a day, for stomach cancer salad is the solution and other cancers can be avoided by such dietary antidotes as broccoli; garlic; greens and fruits; cereal brans, notably wheat bran; dried beans; tea and some seafood.

Finally, please remember this: whatsoever was the father of a disease, an ill diet was the mother.
