Prominent figures gets awards

Jakarta Military Commander Maj. Gen. Hendropriyono and
Holland's ambassador to Indonesia J.H.R.D. Van Roijen have been
announced among 15 prominent figures who will receive the Merit
Awards of Social Distinction from a privately-owned foundation.

The Jakarta Program Foundation, which was founded by
businessman Sudwikatmono, has also chosen business tycoon Liem
Sioe Liong, Minister for Transmigration Siswono Yudohusodo and
Surya Paloh, owner of the Media Indonesia daily, as other
recipients of the award.

The presentation will take place at the Shangri-La Hotel in
Central Jakarta on Wednesday evening. In April the foundation
presented the Lady Achievement awards for outstanding women.
