Projects worth billions completed

TANGERANG: In conjunction with the Tangerang municipality's 10th anniversary, the municipal administration will inaugurate on Friday a new Tangerang administration office center, a new Grand Mosque and a new overpass in Cikokol.

Mayor M. Thamrin said on Monday that the funding for the three projects, costing some Rp 300 billion, had been taken from the administration's annual budget.

The administration is also constructing a state-of-the-art pedestrian bridge as a city landmark on Jl. MH. Thamrin. It will cost Rp 2 billion.

Thamrin said other projects under way were the construction of an integrated bus terminal in Poris Plawad subdistrict, Batu Ceper district, and a five-kilometer road from Tangerang city to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, costing Rp 60 billion and Rp 40 billion respectively.

The mayor revealed that the administration would also build several other concrete roads as alternative routes to reduce traffic in the municipality.

They will include a toll road from Serpong to Teluk Naga, via Alam Sutra housing complex in Kunciran subdistrict in Cipondoh district, Modern Land housing estate and Poris Plawad subdistrict.--JP
