Privatize haj pilgrimage
From Merdeka
Much has been discussed about the issue of the 'green passport.' The report about the arrest of haj pilgrims using green passports and their subsequent deportation has been denied by the Saudi Arabian embassy in Jakarta, the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah and also the Indonesian ambassador to Singapore.
Muhamad Buang, a member of the House of Representatives, deplores the issue and suggests that the government consider allowing the private sector to handle affairs related to the haj pilgrimage.
I fully agree with the legislator and hope that the next haj pilgrimage is managed by private bodies. A large campaign should be launched to realize this idea.
