Prices stable for construction material

JAKARTA (JP): Following the long holidays, the construction
materials business has resumed with generally stable prices,
Antara reported on Friday.

Freddy, a shop keeper in Cawang, East Jakarta, said only a few
materials had higher prices. He said some customers had returned,
but the number had yet to meet his expectations.

Construction materials selling at normal prices included
Vinilex paint. A five-kilogram can of the paint was sold for Rp
42,500, while the one-kilogram can cost Rp 9,500.

A 25-kilogram sack of cement was priced at Rp 22,000, while a
sheet of zinc was offered at Rp 16,000. A bar of construction
steel with 6 millimeters diameter was sold for Rp 6,000, while
the 12 mm bar cost Rp 20,000. (jun)
