Price hike can reduce smoking

I am delighted to see the price of cigarettes soaring. I am sure some people will quit the bad habit of smoking, or at least reduce the number of cigarettes smoked.

Some people, including a close friend of mine, regard cigarette smoking as a substitute for food. But they often do not respect the nonsmokers, although they are fully aware of the fact that secondhand smoking is equally hazardous.

Also the price increase of cigarettes will hopefully discourage youngsters from smoking, which is bad for their health. We really need a cleaner environment and air to breathe.
