Praise for those who care

When our family visited Indonesia recently we read your paper
frequently and on June 1 we came across some really great news.

We would like to congratulate the Samihim Dayak people and the
Environmental Forum (Walhi) and the 12 other NGOs for the
excellent work they are doing to prosecute those responsible for
the terrible forest fires in Kalimantan.

We feel deep gratitude to all these people who dedicate their
efforts toward sorting out the mess. Many people around the world
were gravely concerned witnessing the irreplaceable loss of these
precious forests with all their biodiversity. We sympathize with
the Dayak people who lost their homes, farms and hunting grounds
through this manmade tragedy.

Thank you for attempting to rectify these mistakes and the
best of luck for your future.
