PPIB clarifies

As a member of the New Indonesia Alliance Party (PPIB) and on behalf of the party, we very much regretted reading the news item Party support for presidential candidates in The Jakarta Post on May 19.

Our party leader has instructed all regional committees in the provinces and districts throughout Indonesia that we are not supporting any presidential or vice presidential candidate from other parties.

As such, nobody from our party should become a campaign committee member for any presidential candidate or their running mate.

For the presidential election, Dr. Sjahrir, our party leader, leaves to the party members themselves the right choose any candidate of their choice.
