PPDK installs Riau leadership

PEKANBARU, Riau: The United National Democratic Party (PPDK)
will install its provincial leadership in Pekanbaru, Riau, on
Saturday.

Akmam Adipoetra, PPDK Riau chairman, said in Pekanbaru on
Friday that party chairman Ryaas Rasyid, former minister of
regional autonomy, was scheduled to install the central board
members of the PPDK and its seven regional chapters.

He explained that the party, founded by Ryaas Rasyid and
politician Andi Malarangeng, had mostly young executives and
would serve as a vehicle for cultivating young well-educated
members "in response to the tragic political conditions at
present."

A dialog on national political developments from the
perspective of the Riau people would be part of the event, with
the party founders, and Riau figures Prof. Tabrani Rab and Andi
Yusran, being the speakers. --Antara
