PPD employees to get salary hike

The employees of the city-owned PPD bus company will receive a
salary hike starting next month, an official says.

Zaini Noer, the director of the company was quoted by Pos Kota
as saying Friday the board of directors of the firm decided on
June 15 to raise the salaries of the firm's employees.

Besides, he said, the firm will also provide some additional
fringe benefits for the lowest ranking employees.

An employee of rank I-A, the lowest rank, with six years of
service will get a salary raise from Rp 43,100 to Rp 67,200 (from
US$20 to $31) per month, Zaini said.

Zaini expressed hope that the salary hike will help increase
the productivity of the employees. (jsk)
