Power plant attracts seven investors

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: Seven foreign and domestic investors have expressed their interest in the government's plan to build a gas and steam powered power plant in the province, South Sumatra Governor Syahrial Oesman said on Thursday.

Out of the seven, four had signed a memorandum of understanding that they would put money into the project, Syahrial said.

The province was a sensible place to locate the plant as it was a producer of coal, the main fuel of the plant, he said. -- JP
