Post-war boom
ZAGREB: Croatia is emerging from the ruins of war in the former Yugoslavia as the fastest-growing car market in the region.
Almost a million cars were blown up or burned, so there is an acute shortage of vehicles. Ford's sales manager for Croatia, Patrick Fourdrain, said that during the fighting, car companies had stopped sending sales representatives into the war-torn areas, fearing for their safety.
And what are the favorite cars? Ford Escorts, Astras and Suzuki Swifts.
