Post office explains
Referring to Mr. John Thomas's letter entitled Post office's
responsibility to The Jakarta Post of Aug. 21, 1997, we would
like to explain as follows:
* The articles had been sent from St. Kilda South Post Office on
April 8, 1997. And we still do not know for sure the kind of
service used and the details of the articles (whether it was sent
by postal parcel, by mail, by EMS or by other services).
Therefore, it is difficult for us to investigate it.
* However, we have contacted the Australian Post Office by fax on
Sept. 12, 1997. Please refer to: 15563/Divket/Opsar/97 for
further information.
* The Australian Post informed us on Sept. 17, 1997, also by fax,
that they would investigate it. On Oct. 8, 1997 the Australian
Post said that they had sent a letter asking for the details of
the mail and the address, but there was no response,
* So, we appreciate your help for asking the sender to contact
St. Kilda South Post Office or International Customer Service,
GPO Box 72-B, Melbourne, VIC 3001 (phone +613 9204 7131) to
provide the details of the articles.
