Post office damaged by fire
INDONESIA: The Medan Post Office on Jl. Bukit Barisan in the
capital of North Sumatra was damaged by a blaze on Saturday at
around 2 a.m.
No casualties were reported in the fire but thousands of
letters were destroyed.
Medan Police chief of detectives Adj. Comr. Maruli Siahaan
said the police were still investigating the fire but that a
short circuit appeared to be the cause.
Six fire trucks arrived at the scene soon after the fire
started and the firemen managed to extinguish the blaze within an
hour. -- JP
