Porn video on buses

From Republika

Our land transport system has made huge strides over the last decade, in particular bus transportation. People in this business are truly entitled to a word of admiration for making it possible to travel overland in comfort and security. I am referring in particular to the management of PO Bus Raya Jakarta-Solo.

I have been a weekly customer of this bus company ever since it was established, and not just because of the fact that its management provides telephone service. However, I have one complaint about the video programs on the bus. The company's satisfactory service is greatly marred by pornographic video programs with which bus passengers are treated to on long journeys.

I have often complained to the bus conductor and the driver about the programs, requesting another program be screened. They instead chose to cancel the show.

There was another hassle on Sept. 10. The incident developed into a serious squabble with the driver, who then refused to drive on. After a little while, we continued the journey, but in a very uncomfortable way. The bus zig-zagged and bumped along the road. What sort of service is that?

Would showing non-pornographic videos be such a loss to the company? There are many Indonesian films which would be more suitable to the average bus passenger.

I do wish that the bus crew would behave more responsibly, more religiously and in true form of the Indonesian character.

I also offer my sincere apologies to my fellow passengers for causing a disturbance then.
