Pondok Pinang area flooded

JAKARTA (JP): Torrential rains and water from Bogor caused the Pesanggrahan river to overflow yesterday, inundating hundreds of houses in the Pondok Pinang area of South Jakarta.

The water level reached two meters in 17 neighborhoods, affecting more than 600 residents. The floods began on Monday night after a week of heavy downpours.

The city's public order office announced that no residents were evacuated from the areas and has sent several boats to the area. (yns)
