Polysindo's profits up 95%

JAKARTA (JP): PT Polysindo Eka Perkasa, a publicly-listed producer of polyester chips, fiber and yarn, announced yesterday that it booked Rp 210 billion (US$89 million) in net profits in 1995.

"It was an increase of 95.3 percent over 1994's result," the company's president, Marimutu Sinivasan, said in a statement.

The company's total sales, according to the statement, rose from Rp 744 billion in 1994 to Rp 963 billion last year, due to higher prices of polyester-based products in both the domestic and international markets. (08)
