Poll repeated after evidence of fraud

AMBON, Maluku: The Aru regency General Elections Commission (Aru KPUD) has decided to repeat the regental election at one polling station after evidence surfaced of electoral fraud.

The election at the Batbula subdistrict polling station in Aru Tengah would be repeated after three people were found to have cast their votes twice, KPUD member Matheos George Lailossa said on Tuesday.

Two of the three people involved in poll fraud were subdistrict poll officials and another was a local resident, Matheos said. The new poll will be held on July 6. -- JP
