Policeman killed in accident

SERANG, West Java: A policeman and his civilian passenger were killed when their van slammed into a parked truck on the Serang- Cilegon highway on Tuesday.

Sgt. Maj. Susbandiya, 35, and his colleague Subandi, 32, were thought to have died instantly.

Police said that Susbandiya may have dozed off while driving the van at high speed, skidded and crashed into the truck, Antara reported.

The police suspect the van to be stolen and have confiscated it. (pan)
