Policeman held for selling marijuana
BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Local police are questioning a former chief of the Blang Kejeren police precinct in southeast Aceh for his alleged involvement in a drug trafficking case.
The forty-year-old man, identified only as Lt. SA, along with two junior officers, H and M, are suspected of selling 46 kilograms of marijuana.
Police spokesman Capt. P. Budi Astuti told Antara on Tuesday that the three suspects are being detained at the provincial police headquarters, and that a special police team has been assigned to find more evidence where the arrest reportedly took place.
"We'll nail every single policeman found to be involved in this case," Budi Astuti promised.
The case was reported following a massive raid three months ago by the North Sumatra police and military force in the areas bordering the province with Aceh. Members of the southeast Aceh military found a two-hectare field of marijuana plants in the forests of Pinding, Blang Kejeren.
