Policeman found dead hanging by sarong

BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: A police Mobile Brigade officer here
was found dead in his house after apparently hanging himself on
Friday on Jl. Amir Hamzah in the provincial capital of
Bandarlampung.

First Brig. Mar, 39, was found dead hanging by a sarong with
injuries to the neck and his tongue sticking out, according to
his neighbors.

The man's body was brought to the Abdoel Moelek-Bandar General
Hospital in Bandarlampung for an autopsy.

Local police officers said an investigation was underway.

Mar's friends said the dead police officer had a calm
disposition and did not seem to have any serious problems at work
or with his family.

The death surprised local residents, who said Mar was a polite
and kind man. --Antara
