Police urged to arrest developer

JAKARTA: City Council urged the police on Tuesday to arrest the president of publicly listed developer PT Duta Pertiwi for ignoring the council's summons to attend a hearing.

"The company president, S. Chandra, has ignored our summons four times. We will ask the council leader to send a letter, demanding the police to arrest him," chairman of Commission B for economic affairs Syarief Zulkarnain said.

The company executive, who is a member of the Sinar Mas Group, was summoned over reports of an alleged scam from dozens of traders at shopping malls and inhabitants at an apartment building developed by the firm.
