Police to improve Imron's case file
DENPASAR, Bali: The police team investigating last year's bombings in Bali will send a special unit to trace and collect evidence and left in East Kalimantan by suspect Ali Imron, team spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Yatim Suyatmo said on Saturday.
"The special officers are scheduled to leave on Monday with the hope that they will be able to collect new evidence to complete Ali Imron's case file," he said.
Ali Imron was arrested at his hiding place on a tiny island in East Kalimantan on Jan. 13 or three months after the bombings on Oct. 12 last year. He was arrested along with 14 of his friends, including Utomo Pamungkas alias Mubarok.
Suyatmo said police believed Imron, the suspected assembler of the bombs used in Bali, had left some evidence there and also still had some friends there.
Regarding witnesses, Suyatmo said the police would be selective, adding that witnesses who possessed information relevant to the case would be taken to Bali.
The Bali Prosecutor's Office recently returned Ali Imron's case files compiled by the police for correction and improvement. -- Antara
