Police to boost patrols

TANGERANG: The Tangerang police, after receiving 10 donated motorcycles from real estate developers, promised to boost their patrols at housing complexes in the area.

Police chief Adj. Comr. Wilardi Wizar said that starting last month, in anticipation of rampant crimes occurring in housing complexes, he would assign two police officers to alternatively patrol each hour.

"Since the National Police split with TNI (in 1999), we have been short of money to buy equipment for officers to carry out their tasks," Wilardi said as he received the 10 Suzuki trail motor cycles contributed by three housing development companies, PT Bumi Serpong Damai, PT Alam Sutra and PT Citra Raya.--JP
