Police shoot alleged drug dealer

JAKARTA (JP): Police shot dead an alleged drug trafficker for resisting arrest and detained another for possessing 100 grams of shabu-shabu (crystal menthaphetamine) at two separate locations on Monday.

Pulogadung police chief of detectives First. Insp. Bambang Setyo said drug dealer suspect Ucok Sihotang, 30, a resident of Jl. Taruna Baru in Kayu Putih subdistrict in East Jakarta was gunned down near Pulogadung Bhakti General Hospital when he tried to escape as he was leading police to the house of his supplier Ronald.

Ucok was arrested on Jl. Kayu Mas earlier in the day for possessing 124 packages of shabu-shabu.

Separately, Kemayoran Police detectives arrested a suspected drug dealer at his residence on Jl. Kemayoran Barat IX in Central Jakarta late on Monday.

Chief of Kemayoran Police Adj. Comr. Herry Rudolf Nahak identified the suspect as 33-year-old Iskandar who had just sold five grams of shabu-shabu to Yuli Agustin, 26, a resident of Jl. Kali Baru Timur VI, also in Kemayoran. (01)
