Police seize 85 Ecstasy pills

JAKARTA (JP): The police seized 85 Ecstasy pills yesterday
from 23 youths arrested in a predawn raid at Ancol Dreamland
Park, North Jakarta.

Eighty-one pills were believed to have been made in Surabaya,
East Java, and they usually sold for between Rp 35,000 (US$ 14.8)
and Rp 50,000 each, said Lt. Col. Rismawan, the chief of the
North Jakarta police precinct.

"This is the fourth raid this month in the area. We will
continue to hold these operations, especially during the fasting
month of Ramadhan," Rismawan was quoted by Suara Pembaruan as
saying.

He said the operation, which involved at least 250 officers,
was the most successful raid since the operations were launched
on Jan. 14. (04)
